Khonsa:
On the eve of Science Day on February 25 the residents of Khonsa Town demonstrated animalism by mercilessly killing a barking deer that accidentally ventured into the township from nearby forest reserve. Early in the morning when the deer was spotted, hundreds of residents chased with lethal weapons. The teachers and students of Ramakrishna Sarada Mission are witnessed to the whole episode. They reportedly shouted at the mob and prayed for mercy but their voice disappeared without a trace. Finally the helpless deer was killed and its flesh reached many kitchens for a good meal while students of Sarada Mission looked broken with tears rolling down their cheeks. The incident was a complete mockery of civilization and humanity. The residents of the historic Khonsa crossed every limits of human decency that deserves every form of condemnation. Every likeminded citizens of Khonsa ought to ensure that such inhuman acts does not surface again in near future.
