CRPF woos rural populace

Under its Civic Action Programme 2011-12, the 20Bn Central Reserve Police Force based at F/20BN, Changlang continues to win confidence of rural populace in the district through various activities. Recently, Suresh Kr Yadav 2IC Commandant (AOL), Changlang distributed 30 nos of solar lanterns to villagers of Changlang and school materials to rural poor students in the presence of Sri Opak Gao, Deputy Commissioner. The unit distributed 30 nos of solar lanterns; 10 nos of footballs with nets; 10 nos of volleyball with nets; complete cricket kit; 10 nos of carom boards; 189 nos of school bags; reading and writing materials.
The CRPF 20Bn unit could feel the pulse of rural Changlang and their humble intention can be gauge. The solar lanterns and other school materials provided will certainly be a great help as school going children in far flung villages does not possess such facility owing to poor economic condition and non-access to mainland.
The unit organized such civic action programmes in the past too. Aimed at encouraging poor students, the unit has earlier distributed computers; musical instruments, bicycles and sewing machines.
While addressing the gathering, Suresh Kr Yadav said CRPF is not only involved in counter insurgency operations in the district but are in constant touch with villagers through various activities under its civic action programme. He expressed hope that citizens will reciprocate it with positivity and contribute in peaceful co-existence.
Deputy Commissioner Opak Gao lauded the efforts of CRPF in maintaining peace in the district and expressed hope that generous help extended by CRPF would help in bridging the gap persisting with villagers.
